AboveNet Provides Diverse Fiber Routes To Fast Growth Latisys Data Centers NEW YORK, December 17, 2009 -- AboveNet, Inc. (NYSE: ABVT), a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, has implemented dedicated, diverse routing over two physically separate paths between Latisys’ data center in Irvine, California and AboveNet’s Los Angeles backbone network. This diversity will help protect Ethernet, eXpressWave™ Long Haul, WDM and IP solutions that AboveNet provides. With this implementation, Latisys, a leader in co-location, complex hosting and managed services, will have private, high bandwidth fiber connectivity running over these paths. This network will provide Latisys fewer ‘hops’ or connection points to offer low latency service for their customers’ mission-critical applications. “We are pleased to have AboveNet lend its expertise in delivering high-performance fiber connectivity to our Southern California data center location,” said Latisys executive vice president, Don Goodwin. “We chose AboveNet as a trusted provider that offers route diversity that is separate from the other networks. We expect this diversity to help ensure and protect the mission-critical communications our customers use in connecting with their IT infrastructure every day.” This capability adds to the high performance, low latency connectivity AboveNet delivers between Latisys’ Oakbrook, Illinois data center and 350 Cermak in downtown Chicago, Illinois. This network connectivity provides an industry-leading low latency alternative for downtown Chicago companies seeking suburban Chicago primary or disaster recovery solutions. MaryBeth Nance, AboveNet Executive Director of Business Development & Marketing, said, “We welcome this opportunity to be part of the network reliability program that Latisys manages. We have designed and implemented a high bandwidth network solution that will help Latisys better serve its customers in the challenging Southern California and Chicagoland markets.” About AboveNet, Inc.
