October 12, 2006 - AboveNet Communications, Inc., an international leader in providing optical network solutions, announces it will provide Brasil Telecom of America, Inc. / GlobeNet a diverse 10G lit-wavelength solution over the WAN/longhaul to their major carrier hotels.

Brasil Telecom of America, Inc. / GlobeNet is an international carrier’s carrier, with headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. GlobeNet operates the most advanced, fully redundant, and lowest latency submarine fiber optic network linking North and South America. Through its dual-ring, 22,000-kilometer network, GlobeNet provides high capacity broadband services and connectivity between the United States, Bermuda, Brazil and Venezuela.

AboveNet’s lit-wavelength solution will enable GlobeNet to manage traffic and bandwidth requirements more efficiently.

AboveNet will provide GlobeNet with diverse 10G Waves from GlobeNet’s cable landing station in Tuckerton, NJ directly into telx’s 60 Hudson Meet-Me-Room in New York City. Due to Brasil Telecom’s extensive service offerings, AboveNet’s 10G lit-wave solution will provide GlobeNet with ample bandwidth, efficiency and support in managing their products.
